What Can We Gain From A Challenge?

what can we gain from a challenge

Answering a “what” type question is best answered by starting with the definitions of the words.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary states that:

The verb “to challenge” means to confront or defy boldly; to arouse or stimulate especially by presenting with difficulties. Its synonym is “dare”.
The noun “challenge” is defined as a difficult task or problem; something that is hard to do; an invitation to compete in a game, fight, etc.

So… what can you do in a challenge?
Well… you can challenge… yourself! I find this to be the most constructive challenge that ever existed.

What can you gain from a challenge?
At the end of any challenge with yourself, you can obtain a better YOU. A smarter, wiser, more experienced YOU should be the main reason for engaging in a challenge.

Why Should You Participate In A Challenge?

why participate in a challenge

Of course, the answer is to gain something.

You can probably obtain a better YOU in several other ways.

One of these ways is to choose to let nature give you blows. Yes, blows can make you better, wiser… but what’s the price you’ll have to pay for this?

So then, why should you participate in a challenge?

  1. It is the fastest way to becoming a better YOU.

  2. You don’t have to wait for a blow to come to you, before finding the best answers to questions that appear in life.

  3. Let’s admit it! We are humans, and we have egos. This ego plays with us and often times it introduces many problems in our lives. But… how can we use our egos in a constructive way without trying to kill it? My personal opinion is that by engaging in a challenge, we can successfully accomplish this. It is often a win-win situation. On the one side, our Ego will be satisfied because it will never settle for anything short of winning, especially in front of other people. On the other side, we have only to gain from a challenge.

Therefore, I have decided that whenever I find an interesting challenge, I will enter it head-on. In this way, I can please my Ego and gather experience combined with useful habits at the same time.
