Geoffrey Holder is an Airman stationed at Royal Air Force Greenbrook in the United Kingdom. He was walking back to his quarters after an evening visit to the local pub where he played darts for the pub team.

Above him, in near space, solar coronal mass ejections are taking place. In the meantime, hidden from detection behind the moon, a leviathan space ship (the QvO) is quietly surveying the Earth’s flora and fauna. The ship is recording Earth’s public entertainment channels which they will rebroadcast to their own people when they return to their home worlds. The spaceship is manned by the descendants of slaves, captured from Earth by the RAP empire, who then forcibly bred them to increase their numbers. Eventually the slaves overthrew their masters and subsumed their empire. Public

By a co-incidence of the extreme natural solar events above and alien technology, Geoffrey Holder is accidentally beamed aboard the QvO. For reasons of secrecy it is impossible to reverse the process, so he remains on board where he becomes a valued member of the crew. The spaceship engages Dark Matter Transit (DMT) to traverse the universe. DMT is a novel method for space travel, which is described as ‘translocation’ by its users.

In Dark Matter Transit 2,. There is a new reality and the possibility to explore the universe and meet with and interact with new species. But then, closer to home, World War Three erupts on Earth.

The final book of the DMT trilogy, (Dark Matter Transit 3. The Terrabot Wars) features a race of robots from the planet Terrabot. The robots had been abandoned when the planet they served was threatened by collision with an asteroid. Left to their own resources and not bothered by extremes of heat, cold. lack of food, oxygen or daylight, the abandoned robots mechanically reproduced more robots. In time they develop their own unique society which is governed by ‘Machine Law’. Machine Law is purely logic based, whereas, planets controlled by humanoid life forms were mostly governed by democratic principles. At the point of contact these different systems of administration are wholly incompatible. In turn this leads to a dramatic conflict, fought across the universe and, once again, the planet Earth is in danger.

Due to an accident of nature and technology, a lone Earthman is transported to the leviathan space ship the ‘QvO’. The ship is lurking hull down behind the moon, from where it is quietly studying the plants and creatures on the Earth’s surface. The spacecraft is manned by the descendants of human slaves who were captured from sailing ships on Earth’s high seas by the Rap Foundation. The Raps then forcibly bred them to produced more slaves. Eventually, through insurrection, the slaves overthrow their Rap captors and subsume their empire, Currently the QvO crew is studying Earth for social/historical reasons. The data they gather will be made available to their own population on the Ongle System of Planets. TheQvO travels the firmament by engaging a new form of space travel titled ‘Dark Matter Transit’ ( ‘DMT. to its crew) which is also a first, for Science Fiction. Dark matter has no breadth, no length, no height, it is the only constant in the universe. Because Dark Matter has no dimensions you do not travel through it in the conventional sense of being propelled from A to B.

About The Author

Dark Matter Transit, the trilogy: explore the universe interact with new species

I was born at South Woodham Ferrers in the county of Essex, England, in February 1936. Keen on football, cricket, swimming, fishing, and woodwork, I played football for my school and on and off for two other villages. South Woodham Ferrers was rural in those days and my first job was a tractor driver. I still number that as one of the finest occupations, where one can look back at the end of the day and see the work that they have done that day, and the changes they have wrought upon the landscape. I joined the Royal Air Force as a Boy Entrant and trained to become a telegraphist and over the next twenty-four years I traveled to, and served in many countries of the world before retiring to Holland. Later returning to the United Kingdom to pursue yet another military occupation. My writing career started rather late in life at the age of 83, and now I have two books published in the Dark Matter Transit series and, No 3, is on the blocks to be published in 2021, Covid permitting.
